This is a lovely classic-style reproduction print from a Sydenham Edwards watercolour circa 1804, from the collection of the Earl of Derby. Welsh natural history artist, Sydenham Edwards (1768-1819) moved to London in c1790 to do watercolours for William Curtis's botanical magazine. His ability of capturing and transposing the beauty of nature ensured his unianimous acclaim as one of the foremost natural history artists of his time.
