The classic love story of Abelard and Heloise, a couple in love, torn apart by another. Abelard was one of the greatest thinkers of his day, a brilliant philosopher and theologian at the end of the 11th century. He found Heloise where he lectured. She was beautiful and intelligent, and doted on by her uncle, who was a Canon, and supervised her education.
