Wonderful original hand-coloured pochoir by Fernand Simeon, published in Paris for Gazette du Bon Ton to illustrate the latest superior fashion, worn in an appropriate situation.

Pochoir by the finest illustrators of the day, introduced fashions by prominent French designers, in the exclusive periodical Gazette du Bon Ton, published by Lucien Vogel in Paris between 1912 and 1925, and distributed by Condé Nast.

Pochoir, the French word for stencil, was the labour-intensive method of illustration by hand-colouring with successive shades of watercolour, through separate stencils to produce identical depths of tone and finesse of detail.
