This lovely oval portrait of young Queen Victoria (Victoria Regina) (1819-1901), was engraved by John Henry Robinson RA (1796-1871) from an 1844 miniature by R. Thorburn . It is surrounded by a finely engraved border surmounted by a crown framed by a laurel wreath. Robert Thorburn ARA (1818-1885) was a miniaturist. His portrait of Queen Victoria was watercolour on ivory, in turn laid on acrylic.
