This scanned pictures does not do justice to the superb sheen of the hand-colour. Rare hand-coloured copperplate engraving highlighted with gold and silver leaf by Bodenehr from the drawing by Kruger for “Allgemeine Naturgeschichte der Fische” (General Natural History of Fish) published between1785 and 1797 by Marcus Elieser Bloch (1723-1799).
