Fine original wood engraving c1889 by F. Meauille from a drawing by A. Slom after a photograph by M. Cotteau - from La Nouvelle Geographie Universelle, la Terre et les Hommes (The Earth and Its Inhabitants) by Elisée Reclus. this interesting work was published in Paris between 1875 and 1894.

This engraving is enhanced by the later hand colouring. It looks lovely in the ragmount mount with the red and black lines setting of the image beautifully. Covered with cellophane for presentation and protection until framed, this antique print just frame selection. The engraved image size is 13 x 19cm (5.1/8 x 7.1/2 inches). External size for frame window is 310 x 350cm (12/1/4 x 13/3/4 inches).
