Lizzie Peach antique print. (Lithograph only) Schutt c1903

by Schutt-Blackburn, Ellen Isham

Whole and Half Peach antique print. Schutt lithograph.

Original colour-printed lithograph by Ellen Isham Schutt-Blackburn (1873-1955), published in 1913 by The Sackett and Wilhelms Co., New York for The United States Department of Agriculture Yearbook. E.I. Schutt was an artist for the Division of Pomology from 1904 to 1914.

Before the widespread use of photography, between 1897 and 1925, artists were employed to create watercolours of agricultural crops growing in the U.S. Yearbooks were printed with chromolithographs from these watercolours to promote the growing of fruit and vegetables. There was not an enormous circulation, so these beautiful illustrations are rarely seen today.

This lithograph is in fine condition and measures 23 x 14cm (9 x 5.5 inches).
