Wonderful antique print of N.Z. Kaka Parrot c1864.

Original colour-printed lithhograph for Brehm's Tierleben, Illustrirtes Tierleben (Illustrated Life of Animals) by Alfred Edmund Brehm, first published in Leipzig between 1864 and 1869. This well-presented and beautifully illustrated natural history work was translated into English for The Royal Natural History, compiled by natural history author, naturalist Richard Lydekker, and published c1896 by Frederick Warner of London and New York.

Page size is approximately 170 x 165mm (9 7/8 x 6 3/4 inches). Image size is approximately 200 x 135mm (8 x 5.25 inches). there is slight foxing around the margin outside the image, and small damage to surface at lower right rear of page.
