Original colour-printed lithograph by Vincent Brooks, Day & Son, for Samuel Sidney’s The Book of the Horse printed by Cassell, Petter, Galpin & Co of London, Paris and New York circa 1874.

At the end of the 19th century, the quality of chromolithographic illustrations for publication was exceptional. The lithographs for Cassells Book of the Horse are some of the finest horse illustrations ever.
