Late 19th century antique print of Skye Terriers. "Sam" the property of Mr. Mark Gretton. "Perkie" the property of Mr. James Locke.

Original lithograph printed in colour by lithographers to the Queen, Vincent, Brooks Day & Son for “Cassell’s Illustrated Book of the Dog” by Vero Kemball Shaw, published in London circa 1881 by Cassell, Petter and Galpin Co.

At the end of the nineteenth century, the quality of chromolithographic illustrations for publication was exceptional. There is some slight foxing to the plate, but it does not detract from this fine image.

Plate size is 215 x 270mm (8.5 x 10.75 inches).
