Half-framed in conservation ragmat, Great Britain antique map.
Original steel-engraved map by C.V. Monin and Antoine-Remy Frémin for Atlas Classique de la Geographie (Classic Atlas of Geography) by Charles Monin, published by Binet at Rue Aubry le Boucher, 34 in Paris c1845 (with fine later hand-colour).
This is an interesting map of Britain, with important cities highlighted. Charles V. Monin was a Geographical Engineer and a member of the Society of Geographers. Antoine-Remy Fremin worked with Monin for many years, specializing as a cartographic engraver.
This fine antique map is currently half-framed - mounted between 'antique-white' conservation ragmat board, and covered with cellophane for presentation and protection until framed. To the outside of the engraved border, this map measures 250 x 195mm (9 7/8 x 7 5/8 inches). The external mount size for framing window is 410 x 350mm (16 1/8 x 13 3/4 inches).
