Monin antique map of Great Britain engraved by Fremin.

Original steel-engraved map by C.V. Monin and Antoine-Remy Frémin for Atlas Classique de la Geographie (Classic Atlas of Geography) by Charles Monin, published in Paris by Binet at Rue Aubry le Boucher, 34 c1845 (with fine later hand-colour). This is an interesting map of Britain, with important cities highlighted. Charles V. Monin was a Geographical Engineer and a member of the Society of Geographers. Antoine-Remy Fremin worked with Monin for many years, specializing as a cartographic engraver.

To the outside of the engraved border this map measures 250 x 195mm (9 7/8 x 7 5/8 inches). This map is currently half-framed - mounted between 'antique-white' conservation ragmat board, and covered with cellophane for presentation and protection until framed.
