Gold Rush Colonial Views -

In 1874 a series of finely engraved views of early settlement around Australia included these three wonderful scenes of life during the period of the gold rushes. This is just a few of the interesting records shown in the steel engravings by topographical illustrators for "Australia Illustrated". Reskemeer a Cornish Gentleman - Marvellous character portrayed in this grand original copperplate engraving from the drawing by Hans Holbein. One of a superb series of Portraits of Illustrious Persons of the Court of Henry VIII. Others in this rare series published by John Chamberlaine circa 1792 can be found under Antique Prints - Portraits.
	Emanuel Bowen's Asia Minor, c1747 before it became pofsessed (sic) by the Turks - A beautiful map of this very interesting region (both ethnically and historically) from the Black Sea in the north, to Cyprus in the south. This superb map can provide hours of fascination. One of many available from Antique Maps - Asia, Japan, India.
