Rare antique print of Tissot commemorative medallions c1775. (This one is the first in the series.)
Writer, humanist, religious reformer Queen of Navarre, Marguerite d’Angouleme (1492-1549), who influenced the paraphrasing of the Psalms by Clement Marot (1492-1544).
Decorative original copperplate engraving of historic medallions with head and obverse side. Engraved on copper by Étienne Louis Crepy (c1700-1759) and printed on hand-laid paper for publication by Tissot in 1775, this lovely antiqure print has fine later hand-colouring to the coins, which certainly adds to the appeal.
Size to intaglio impression is 195 x 160mm (7.75 x 6.25 inches). Page size is 305 x 210mm (12 x 8.25 inches).
