A set of four black and white reproduction prints from copperplate engravings by Bernard Picart (1673-1733), for “L’art de monte a cheval ou description du manege moderne dans sa perfection” (The Art of Proper Horsemanship), by Friedrich Wilhelm, Baron Rais d’Eisenberg (c.1700-c.1770). Originally published in Amsterdam circa 1759.

Baron Eisenberg was a renowned horseman, and riding master to the Court of the Hapsburgs. He was an amateur artist who wrote and illustrated the work with fifty-five illustrations of schooled horse movements, after being commissioned to do so by the Tenth Earl of Pembroke. The original drawings now hang at Wilton House in England.
