Heritage Editions reproduction prints from superb hand-coloured engravings originally published in London circa 1784 by Italian engraver Michelangelo Pergolesi for his “Designs for Various Ornaments”. Pergolesi designs featured artistic utilization of various antiquities. He based most of his work on earlier Renaissance Masters. The publication of Pergolesi's fabulous designs greatly influenced the decorative arts of his day. When he was 60, Pergolesi was one of a group of Italian artists and painters who moved from Rome to London under the auspices of James Adam, and worked as one of Robert Adam’s principal decorative artists.
