Five small Heritage Editions reproduction prints of shells.

Reproduced from hand-coloured copperplate engravings by Pietro Antonio Pazzi (1706-66), from the drawings by Giuseppe Menabuoni (1708-1745) for Index Testarum Conchyliorum quae adservantur in Museo Niccolo Gualtieri (List of Shells in the Museum of Niccolo Gualtieri), published in Florence circa 1742.

Nicolai Gualtieri was an Italian medical doctor and professor at the University of Pisa, Niccolo Gualtieri (1688-1744). His passion was conchologyand his collection of molluscs, and the system he devised for classification, was commended by eminent zoologists. In 1716 Gualtieri co-founded the first European botanical society, the Botanical Society of Florence.

Each of these five charming little prints measures 13 x 19 cm (5 x 7 inches). They look great whether framed individually and hung together - or framed together in one frame.
