Pretty arrangement of Shells Plate XLV by Goldsmith

Pretty small print of Seashells. Goldsmith Plate 45 from a set of three reproductions shell prints from finely hand-coloured copperplate engraving for "A History of the Earth and Animated Nature" by Oliver Goldsmith (1728-1774), published circa 1774 by A. Fullerton & Company of Edinburgh and London. These decorative prints are of beautiful groups of shells in tones of brown, pink and mauve on a fawn background.

This work was reissued over a period of over twenty years. The ongoing popularity of this work was attributable to the fine stylised hand-coloured illustrations.

Size of print is 10 x 6.5 inches or 25 x 16cm.
