Classical Panel for December with Protector, Goddess Vesta.

One of the most popular and mysterious goddesses of the Roman pantheon, Vesta (Greek, Hestia) is the goddess of the hearth and home, and was attended by vestal virgins. Vesta was worshipped by some as the goddess of fire.

Reproduction printed from a finely detailed copperplate engraving, originally published in Paris c1750.

The twelve panels depict ancient mythical gods who were believed to be the protectors of each month. All 12 hung together look fabulous - or they individually make the perfect little birthday gift.
