From 1530 to 1698, the Royal Palace at WhitFine Heritage Editions print of Whitehall Royal Palace designed by Inigo Jones c1638. From 1530 ehall was the main London royal residence. The palace had over 1,500 rooms and was the largest palace in Europe when it was destroyed by fire - except for the Banqueting House.
Reproduced from a hand-coloured copperplate engraving by Henrik Hulsbergh after the drawing by Henry Flitcroft of the architectural design of Inigo Jones (1573-1652), originally published in London circa 1715-1767 by Colen Campbell. Known as "the father of classical English architecture", Inigo Jones believed that strict mathematical proportion should control plan, elevation, and every other detail of construction.
Paper size is 445 x 985mm (17.1/2 x 38.3/4 inches). This is a stunning pair of prints with semi-gloss finish on heavy white paper with very large borders around image.
