4 small Heritage Editions reproduction prints of wild animals from hand-coloured copperplate engravings for “Zoological Lectures delivered at the Royal Institution by George Shaw, M.D.F.R.S.&c. with plates from the first Authorities and most select specimens. Engraved principally by Mrs Griffith, and originally printed in London for G. Kearsley, Fleet Street, circa 1807-1809.

George Shaw (1751-1813) was one of the founding members of the Linnean Society of London. Shaw was appointed Assistant Keeper of the Natural History section of the British Museum in 1807 and remained in the post until he died.

Each of these four prints measures 150mm x 230mm (approximately 6 x 9 inches). They look great whether framed individually and hung together - or framed together in one frame.
