Beautiful reproduction print from a chromolithograph by W. Griggs.
Created after thousands of experiments, Jasperware was introduced in 1774 by the English potter Josiah Wedgwood. It is a fine-grained unglazed dense stoneware. White in its natural state, it was then stained with metallic oxide and embellished by relief classical motifs.
