by Wedgwood, Josiah

One of a pair of fine reproduction prints.

From chromolithographs by W. Griggs, this print illustrates three (3) beautiful Wedgwood Jasperware Vases.

Created after thousands of experiments, Jasperware was introduced in 1774 by the English potter Josiah Wedgwood. It is a fine-grained unglazed dense stoneware. White in its natural state, it was then stained with metallic oxide and embellished by relief classical motifs.

This fine reproduction print was from a chromolithograph by W. Griggs for Frederick Rathbone's Old Wedgwood, the Decorative or Artistic Ceramic Work Produced by Josiah Wedgwood, published in London c1898 by Quaritch.

Print measurement is 345 x 510mm (13 5/8 x approx. 24 1/4 inches). This image only shows the centre detail of this beautiful print. Please email for full size print pic (with lower quality image).
