Antique print of Cranium Occipital and Temporal Bones - Occipital bones of an infant, wormian or suture bones, temporal bones of an adult and infant.

This is a superb quality original lithograph by Delaporte after the drawing by Nicolas Henri Jacob (1782-1871), for the comprehensive anatomy textbook Traité complet de l’homme de l’anatomie (Complete Treatise of the Anatomy of Man) published in Paris between 1831 and 1854 by French anatomist Jean-Baptiste Marc Bourgery (Orleans 1797-1849 Paris). Bourgery published the first volume in 1831. He completed his treatise, but publication was not completed until 5 years after his death. Bourgery’s role model and mentor was anatomist-paleontologist Georges Cuvier.

Page size is 42 x 30 cm (16.5 x 14 inches). To border line measures 30 x 23cm (11 3/4 x 9 7/8 inches). There is a conservation repaired very small extremity tear at mid right, and a faint diagonal bend of page at lower left. (Price reduced accordingly.)
