Hand-coloured steel engraving by Dean from a painting by Sir Martin Archer Shee, P.R.A.  Published in London circa 1831 by Whittaker & Co. from Proofs by M. Colnaghi for the popular English fashion journal La Belle Assemblée.  La Belle Assemblee was not a French publication. It was named after its English publisher John Bell.
