Original fine engraving by J.C. Redaway from the sketch on the spot by W. H. Bartlett, for Finden’s Views of the Ports and Harbours, Watering Places of Great Britain by William and Edward Francis Finden. Published by Virtue & Company, London circa 1840. This is a lovely scene with sheep being watched over by a man and woman. St Bees Head is the only cliff between Cumbria and Scotland, and is wonderful centre for bird-watching.

This engraving has later fine hand-colour and is in good condition, with approximate measurements of image, 117 x 180mm (4.1/2 x 7.1/8 inches), and page, 205 x 275mm (8 x 10.7/8 inches).
