Lovely steel engraving by R. Wallis after a sketch on the spot by W.H. Bartlett for The Ports, Harbours, Watering-Places and Coast Scenery of Great Britain by William Finden (1787-1852) and Edward Finden (1791-1857). Published by George Virtue in London circa 1840-1845 with illustrations of views, mostly by W.H. Bartlett (also from drawings by J.D. Harding, T. Creswick, and others). This is a wonderful series of fine engravings of scenes from the most famous coastal ports, inland river towns, and spa towns, with many important lighthouses and historic buildings and ruins. 

This engraving has later fine hand-colour and the page is in good clean condition except for sllight paper rub and a small spot below to the left of the title. approximate measurements of image, 122 x 180mm (4.3/4 x 7.1/8 inches), and page, 252 x 275mm (8.1/4 x 10.7/8 inches).
