Lovely original 18th century copperplate engraving for “Middleton’s Complete System of Geography” published in London circa 1777-8 by Charles Theodore Middleton. This work included wonderful illustrations of ethnography and architecture as well as topography.

This engraving has been finely tinted with watercolour at some date since publication. Page measures approximately 23 x 36mm. (9 x 14 inches). To intaglio plate impression 19 x 24 cm (7.5 x 9.5 inches).
