Antique Engravings published in London for The Illustrated London News on August 23, 1890. Antique Print of Sketches of Native Life in the South Pacific Islands, by Mr. Ernest W. Henderson.

The upper three are of Solomon Islanders with spears. The lower ones of Fijians are Fijian Gentleman (with shotgun), Fijian Policemen with weapons, and a Fijian Native.
 
The Illustrated London News was the world's first graphic newspaper. It was published weekly from 1842, and its engraved images of events and discoveries from around the world ensured its popularity. Engravings have always been avidly collected, and often coloured for further enjoyment.
