Small original hand-coloured lithograph by Thomas S. Wagner, lithographer, 38 Hudson Street, Philadelphia. Simme-Boozen-no-Kami was Chief Ambassador of the first Japanese embassy to the United States of America, sent to Washington in 1860 as the first of the series of embassies specially sent abroad by the Tokugawa shogunate.

Aged paper with off-setting from print on adjoining page. Size, 7 1/2 x 4 1/2 inches (19 x 11.5cm).
