Original steel engraving by John Saddler from a sketch by prominent English topographical artist James Charles Armytage (1802-1897) for Edwin Carton Booth’s “Australia Illustrated” published in London circa 1874 by Virtue & Company. This is a lovely view of Ballarat, looking down over the city. With good quality homes and gardens, and people and a bullock-pulled dray being driven in the foreground.
