Original woodblock engraved for the illustrated monthly magazine, The Australasian Sketcher, published in Melbourne by The Argus on March 18, 1879 (with later colour). The Australasian Sketcher with Pen and Pencil was published between 1873 and 1889. It was a popular magazine containing articles and illustrations, including scenes from current theatrical productions, and prominent newsworthy people and events. (Between 1880 and 1882 it was published fortnightly.)

This engraving with wonderful portraits of the gentlemen in new Queensland Ministry as printed on the upper half of a page.
To the border of the engraving measures 165 x 212 mm (approximately 6 1/2 x 8 3/8 inches).
