Framed antique print of Townsville in North Queensland.

A hand-coloured fine original steel engraving by Samuel Bradshaw (1810-1888) after a drawing by James Howe Carr (c1818-c1869) for Edwin Carton Booth's Australia, Illustrated with Drawings by Skinner Prout, Chevalier, Armytage and others published in London by Virtue & Co. circa 1874 (with fine later hand-colour).

This engraving is in good condition, and is mounted between ragmat conservation board, decorated with a gold line. The fine-quality frame is a rich mahogany-coloured veneer over pine. The external measurement of the frame is 37 x 42cm (approx. 14 1/2 x 16 1/2 inches). The engraving measures 12 x 19cm (4 3/4 x 7 1/2 inches).
