Rare antique print of Norfolk Island: View of Sydney, on the South side of Norfolk Island.

Original copperplate engraving by Wilson Lowry (1762-1824) for "An Account of the English Colony in New South Wales.." by David Collins (1756-1810). Published in London between 1798 and 1802. In 1788 Governor Phillip appointed David Collins Secretary to the Governor at Sydney Cove settlement. Collins was also referred to as Secretary to the Colony. He became the new colony's first Judge Advocate. In 1803 Collins established the first settlement at Port Phillip which he was dissatisfied with, and after approval by Governor King, established the first colony on the Derwent River in 1804, where Hobart stands today.

Engraving measures 18 x 24 cm (7 x 9.5 inches).
