Antique Print of Overland Telegraph Station in far north, South Australia. 3,200 dilometres of single wire suspended from an insulator on a pin at top of 36,000 telegraph poles. The white ant-eaten cyprus pine was later replaced by iron poles.
Original wood engraving for "Australian Pictures" by Howard Willoughby, published in London by The Religious Tract Society, circa 1886 with later hand-colour.
