Antique Print of Diggers on the Road to a Rush.
The Australian gold-rushes attracted people from around the world - particularly Great Britain - in the hope of making their fortunes in the young colony of Australia. Diggers was the name given them, as they toiled long hours in arduous conditions, in their search for gold.
This is a fine original steel engraving for "Australia Illustrated" published in London circa 1874 (with later hand-colour).
The size of the image is approximately 15cm x 20cm (6 x 8 inches).
