Antique print of early Australian countryside: Grass Trees, aborigines, axe, shot-gun and bottle.

The iconic Australian native Xanthorrhoea, sometimes known as 'black boy' for its tall black stalk that becomes covered with tiny white flowers.

Original fine steel engraving by J.C. Armytage from the sketch by Skinner Prout. Published in London circa 1874 for Carton Booth's "Australia Illustrated".

The area shown is just the image. There is discolouration horizontally across the top of the page, but this would not impede on the image if being framed. There are ample borders outside the engraved area. Black and white, as published. The image measures approximately 13 x 20 cm (5 x 8 inches).
