Fishing. Antique Print of Aborigines of Cape Diemen in north Western Australia, fishing. A wonderful scene of a group of 20 aborigines, including children.

Original copperplate engraving by A.W. Warren, of the drawing by painter and naval draughtsman, Piron (active 1791-1793), after a sketch by Harding. Published April 20 1800 by J. Debrett Piccadilly, for the Voyage in Search of La Perouse. La Perouse was last seen when he met up with the British in Port Jackson in 1788.

The engraving is on soft but thick paper. There is a large vertical tear top-right, and the base is cropped through the name of the publisher, John Debrett of Piccadilly. It is still a delightful scene - priced appropriately in recognition of the condition.

The page measures 225 x 290mm (approximately 9 x 11.5 inches). Engraved image measures 180 x 242mm (7 x 9.5 inches).
