Original pochoir published in Paris c1922 for Gazette du Bon Ton (Journal of Good Style), the exclusive publication that introduced the latest superior fashion styles in Paris.

Pochoir, the French word for stencil, was the labour-intensive method of illustration by hand-colouring with watercolour, through separate stencils for each colour. The finest illustrators of the day showed fashions by prominent French designers in Gazette du Bon Ton, published by Lucien Vogel in Paris between 1912 and 1925.
