Antique print of wondrous early English ladies' headwear.

Original aquatint finished with watercolour by hand, for the popular English fashion journal La Belle Assemblee published in London circa 1828 by G.B. Whittaker. Despite the French title of this little book of fashion illustrations, this was not a French publication. La Belle Assemblee was named for its English publisher John Bell.

This delightful engraving has very faint soiling, but is otherwise in good condition. 
Page size is 235 x 145mm (9.1/4 x 5.7/8 inches). To the border line measures 175 x 117mm (6.7/8 x 4.5/8 inches).
