Mado s'habille (Mado dresses) CHERUBS. Carlos Bady pochoir c1932

by Bady, Carlos

Mado s'habille (Mado gets dressed - with the assistance of cherubs!)

Delightful image by Carlos Bady from a series of four colourful hand-coloured pochoir for Le Journée de Mado (Mado’s Day), published in Paris circa 1932 by Galerie Lutetia.

The colour is among the most vibrant ever produced. The plate is in good condition, except for a slight corner tear (expertly repaired), across the top right corner of the paper - not affecting the image.

Along with Raoul Dufy and Paul Allier, Carlos Bady was among the last artists to produce this style of beautiful pochoir prints.

Approximate size: Paper 24 x 18cm (9.5 x 7 inches). Image 20 x 15cm (8 x 6 inches).
