Toilettes d'Enfants (Children's Clothes). Mlles Hunsinger fashions c1880
by La Mode Illustrée
La Mode Illustrée French children's fashions antique print.
French fashion designers Mademoiselles Hunsinger of rue Sedaine, 13, were prominent Parisian designers of children's fashion. This is a wonderful historic record of the seriousness given to children's clothes in designing miniatures of adult fashion (except for young boys). They were of course accompanied by their nanny, so strictly for the wealthy... La Mode Illustrée was a less expensive (so well-circulated) fashion periodical in the late 19th century in Paris.
This wood engraving measure 150 x 120mm (6 x 4 3/4 inches). It has been mounted between conservation ragmat board and covered for presentation and protection until framed.
