Fabulous outfit! Gazette du Bon Ton, Croquis X c1922.

Original pochoir published in Paris circa 1922 for Gazette du Bon Ton (Journal of Good Style), the exclusive publication that introduced the latest superior fashion styles. Most of the Croquis (sketches) were done by the David sisters (from a family of artists). The finest artists illustrated the latest fashions by prominent French designers in Gazette du Bon Ton, published by Lucien Vogel in Paris between 1912 and 1925 (with a break during World War I).

Pochoir, the French word for stencil, was a labour-intensive method of illustration by cutting up to 20 stencils for successive application of watercolour by a variety of tools and brushes to create a consistent illustration with detailing of fabric and colour tones.
