Antique print of people with centaurs, Raphael fresco in Palacio Sixta, built by Pope Sixtus V in the 16th century.. (Residence of the Pope. Sundays at noon the Pope stands at the window and blesses the crowd that gathers in the Vatican square.)

Original copperplate engraving circa 1670-1677 by Pietro Santi Bartoli (1635-1700), who studied painting in Paris with eminent artists Nicolas Poussin (1594-1665) and Pierre Lemaire (1612-1688). Bartoli aspired to achieve the beauty and essence of Raphael’s superb classical frescos.

Paper size, 275 x 330mm (10 7/8 x 13 inches). Image size 135 x 185mm (approx 5 1/4 x 7 1/4 inches). This engraving is currently framed (previous item) but can be unframed if preferred. We have a number of similar fresco engravings.
