Exquisitely engraved Raphael pilasters c1787. Antique-style-veneer-framed pair of Raphael pilaster frescos antique print. Original antique copperplate engraving by draughtsman, artist, etcher and engraver Carlo Lasinio (1759-1838) of a pair of frescos from pilasters (pillars in the Loggia at the Vatican), representing the superb wall decoration as devised by the celebrated Renaissance artist, Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino (1483-1520) for the private Loggia of the Vatican in Rome. This original antique print has been beautifully hand-coloured with gouache and watercolour at some time since publication.
Raphael's frescos for the Loggia of the private residence at the Vatican, were painted by Raphael and his assistants during the last two years of his life. "Logge del Vaticano", published in Rome circa 1787 by Niccola de Antoni and in Paris c1802 by Pierre Choffard, comprised pairs of Pilasters - half the size of the grand single pilasters for Delle Loggie di Raffaello nel Vaticano published in Rome between 1772-1777.

This is one of a set of 6 pilaster pairs that has been framed in conservation materials and antique-style gilt-sight-edged maple-toned veneered moulding. All 6 are available framed or unframed.
