Antique Print of Venus (Venere) from Cortile Ottagono in the Belvedere Palace. Gia nel cortile delle statue del Vaticano (In the courtyard of the Statues known as Cortile Ottagono.

Fine original mezzotint and line engraving by C.P.P. Carloni after a drawing by the famous Lithuanian Classicism painter, the first professor and the head of the Drawing and Painting Department at Vilnius University in Lithuania, Franciszek (Francesco) Smugliewiez (born Poland 1745, died Lithuania 1807), for Il Museo Pio Clementino published in Rome circa 1784 by the conservator of the Capitoline Museum in the Vatican, Italian archaeologist Ennio Quirini Visconti (1751-1818), to illustrate Renaissance works and other fine antiquities on exhibit at the Museum of Sculpture established in 1771 by Pope Clement XIV (169-1774). Ennio worked as assistant to his Father Giovannit Battista Antonio Visconti (1722-1784), who was prefect of antiquities in Rome from 1768. Ennio completed this important work after his father's death.

External page measurement is 60cm x 43cm. Plate mark to 49cm x 31.5cm. This antique print of a superb classical study is in fine condition except for a few small soiling marks
