Original engraving illustrating the Royal Academy in London exhibit of three fine sculptures by sculptor-architect John Thomas for a mausoleum in the Necropolis in Glasgow. Published c.1858 in The Illustrated London News, with fine later colour highlighted against a black background.
This famous group of statues represents the greatest of all virtues, Faith, Hope, and Love (which is more often now referred to as Charity. This is a beautifully coloured half-framed engraving.
Mounted between 'antique white' high quality conservation ragmat boards, with window surrounded by single gold line highlighting the image... Ready for choice of frame, the window size is185 x 235mm (7.25 x 9.25 inches). External mount size (window for framing) 325 x 375mm (12.75 x 14.75 inches)
