Marble Venus sculpture by Canova. Fine antique engraving.

Original fine stipple engraving illustrating a fine marble sculpture of Venus by 'the supreme minister of beauty', Italian sculptor Antonio Canova (1757-1822) who was considered the greatest sculptor of his time.

English sculptor and portrait engraver R.H. Dyer engraved this superb statue for Illustrations of Sculpture, published in London circa 1832.

This serene classical study has been mounted between 'antique white' ragmat conservation board and covered with cellophane protective cover, ready for framing. Window size is approximately 275mm x 230mm. Page size is 370mm x 270mm. External mount size for framing is 380mm x 340mm.
(There is very faint soiling of this very porous paper. Priced accordingly.)
