Fine original mezzotint and line engraving by Giovanni Folo (1764-1836) after the drawing by Vincenzo Dolcibene (1746-1820), for Il Museo Pio Clementino published in Rome circa 1784 by the conservator of the Capitoline Museum in the Vatican, Italian archaeologist Ennio Quirini Visconti (1751-1818), to illustrate Renaissance works and other fine antiquities on exhibit at the Museum of Sculpture established in 1771 by Pope Clement XIV (169-1774). Ennio worked as assistant to his Father Giovannit Battista Antonio Visconti (1722-1784), who was prefect of antiquities in Rome from 1768. Ennio completed this important work after his father's death.
External page measurement is cm. Plate mark to 48 x 31cm. This antique print of a superb classical study is in fine condition except for a few small soiling marks.
