The Blessing engraved expressly for Graham's Magazine. Engraving c1844

The Blessing engraved expressly for Graham's Magazine. Engraving c1844

by Graham's Magazine

Antique print of Grace being said before a meal. Family expressing thanks for their meal.

Original fine steel engraving by E. G. Dunnel after a drawing by T. Webster, published in Philadelphia circa 1842 for "Graham's Lady's and Gentleman's Magazine embellished by the finest mezzotint and steel engravings" by George Rex Graham.

This popular nineteenth century publication was also known as Graham's American Monthly Magazine of Literature and Art. Although published in black and white, many of these engravings have since been hand-tinted with watercolour, which certainly adds to their appeal.

This engraving measures 145 x 120mm (5.1/2 x 4.5/8 inches), and the page is 255 x 155mm (10 x 6 inches). The surrounding page is somewhat soiled, but it is still a charming scene.
